Duns Hand Ba’ 1951
This week’s #ObjectoftheWeek is the Duns Hand Ba’ 1951, which is available to see in our museum. At Fastern’s E’en (Shrove Tuesday), an annual street football game was played on the streets of Duns in the Scottish Borders for centuries. The game evolved into a version of handball but ceased as an activity in 1885. It was revived in 1949 as part of the Duns Summer Festival. Come visit our museum to learn more about this fascinating object.
