Footix, Official Mascot for the FIFA 1998 World Cup

This week’s #ObjectoftheWeek is Footix, the official mascot for the France 1998 FIFA World Cup. Footix is a rooster, the symbol of France, and the name was unveiled in 1996 after having won the vote of the French public. The mascot was created by Fabrice Pialot and was used in various forms of merchandising.
