Bonjour! Today is the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. To celebrate, we thought we would showcase this book from the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. This is a Uruguayan publication covering the games. Prince Hendrik, consort of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, officially opened these games. A symbolic fire was lit for the first time during these games. This was also the first time Coca-Cola became a sponsor of the Olympics and they remain the oldest sponsor to this day.
