Wembley Wizards Football
This week’s #ObjectoftheWeek is the “Wembley Wizards” football from 1928. This ball survives thanks to Scotland’s goalkeeper, Jack Harkness. It was used in one of the most famous games in Scottish football: Scotland’s 5-1 victory over England at Wembley in 1928. Harkness stuffed the ball under his shirt at the end of the match and gave it to the Scottish Football Association. His signature is on the right of the ball. You can see this ball when you visit our museum.
